Sport and Human Rights on the occasion of the Olympics Games in Rio
The European Parliament’s Subcommittee on Human Rights (DROI), in association with the Delegation for Relations with the Federative Republic of Brazil, is holding an exchange of views on Sport and human rights on the occasion of the Olympic Games in Rio on Wednesday 13 July 2016, from 11:00 to 12:30. The event will take place at the European Parliament in Brussels, room Paul-Henri Spaak 5 B 001.
Terre des hommes has been invited to take part in this exchange and discuss the human rights situation in light of the impact of the Rio Olympic games on children (Children Win campaign).
The introductory remarks will be done by Ms Elena Valenciano, Chair of the Subcommittee on Human Rights and by Mr António Marinho e Pinto, first Vice-Chair of the Delegation for the Relations with the Federative Republic of Brazil.
The following speakers will then exchange their views on human rights in Mega Sporting Events, and more specifically for the Olympic Games in Rio:

- Mr Jonathan Cornejo, Campaigner, Amnesty International UK
